Boy! Minnesota got lucky! He's turning out to be a big plus in the Senate for them!

But he is entitled to his? I knew I've been going about it all wrong, I need to become a liberal so I can have it both ways.

I wish my Senators would throw caution to the wind and tell it how it is like Franken.

I hate to break to all of you, but Al Franken is just as fucking hypocritical as the Republicans were. The Republican did do his best to imply that taxes started before any benefits, but he didn't say all benefits, he just implied it (one of my pet peeves about all politicians). In response, Al Franken implied the exact opposite, that the Republican stated that all benefits didn't start until 2014. Both are doing their best to misrepresent what is actually going on.

As far as not actually reading the bill, I don't know anyone who could have read the bill by now, especially since there is about three thousand pages total (one thousand in the House version, two thousand in the Senate - or perhaps the other way around - and the two must somehow be resolved before the final bill is ready to be voted on) while being pushed by the Democratic majority to be voted on now (and who also have admittedly not read the bill, something that went unmentioned in Franken's bullshitting) and there are other bills going through Congress at the same time.

This insanity needs to stop. I think the government needs to impose a law that all bills should be no longer than a single page and should address one issue at a time. With a bill like this, the parts that do work can't be separated from the parts that don't work. So we are either stuck with shitty results along with the good, or we repeal the entire damn thing, write up another insane thousand-plus page law, and wait for it to fuck up things. What idiots think this is a good state of affairs?

according to these polls .. roughly 22 -> 30% of the populace thinks congree is doing OK .. there is a lot of people drinking some special brand of kool aid somewhere.

Franken comments about congressional critters not reading the bill .. that's a laugh coming from this current group of clowns in office who vote down party lines and don't read the bills.

Personally, I find that frightfully scary, considering Congress' approval rating was around nine (or was it eleven) percent around the election. That means it has gone up, despite the fact that they have done nothing different than what they were doing before the election. Even sadder is that between doubling or tripling Congress' approval rating, still only one out of three to four people approves of them. It has gotten to the point where I think we need real change. The current form of government just doesn't work. I think it is time to try something else, even if only for a while.
