One of these two premises is correct. I suspect we will see which one it is in fairly short order.
Those premises are not mutually exclusive.
Either the hacked emails support the notion that global warming is a hoax or they don't.
If they don't support it, which is what the MSM must be thinking otherwise they would cover this story in greater detail, that would fit the pattern of largely irrelevant stories covered extensively by FOX NEWS that show their particular bias. Examples include the Tea Bag astroturf movement, partly created by FOX, the ridiculously stupid Birther movement, and similar indulgences into the weird and wacky extreme of political thought.
Not that premise, the coverage premise. Fox is running it because it supports them, while the rest is ignoring it because it supports them. Those two are not mutually exclusive, and the content of the emails is irrelevant to that premise.

Yeah, I can tell you this article is full of shit. You don't "plot data logarithmically versus linearly". You might process data using a logarithmic function versus a linear function (to constrain the data between two points), but that doesn't change how you plot it. It is also not a "trick" to do that, scientists have been doing that for years. If a scientist referred to that as a "trick", he or she would get laughed out of the room. If the emails state that the scientists intentionally determined to plot the data linearly (which would result in "hockey stick" looking graph), then they are manipulating or inventing their own data. Now I really want to see those emails. If that is the case, it basically is stating that the proof of man-made global warming is made up. This is even more conspicuous given the recent announcement regarding the "loss" of the raw data (raw data means from before they pass it through a logarithmic function to constrain the data).

Only FOX NEWS is giving this wall to wall coverage because it supports their bias, not because it actually means what the conservative media says it means.
