While I agree with the rest of your sentiment, if the signs were just of Rosa Parks, what were they doing there? Its hard to tell from the video, but I think there was something else on there. I think the whole story is not getting out here.
In either case, you are right. Both sides overreacted, and while I feel the gentleman should pay for the sign he destroyed, the lady did seem to disobey the police, which is probably why she was arrested.
I also find curious that signs were not allowed. Isn't that part of our free speech rights? As long as they were appropriately displayed (not blocking others view), there is no reason to ban them...
How are the healthcare debates becoming a racial thing? Also, what the hell does Rosa Parks have to do with anything?
This is just a guess, but think about what group/s of people make up the majority of uninsured and underinsured.
As long as you can divide an conquer - it becomes a racial, left vs right, red vs blue, dem vs repub, them vs us, old vs young, neocon vs neo liberal .... take your pick.

We've got pissed off people in America who can't understand how this country has gotten so screwed up and the folks in DC seem to think that we work for them instead of them for us. There are too many people that are pointing their fingers at 'the others' saying it's their fault when it's everyone's fault for not getting involved enough and electing people who will express their beliefs instead of Wall Streets, Big Pharm companies, banks etc ... etc
