I kinda feel the same way about Pelosi, but I thought the speech was good and not socialist.
I thought the speech was a load of crap. It gave me the feeling of lawyer reviewed ad copy.
Like halving the deficit*. Because if you double it this year on one time spending and pork out the ass, just not doing that will halve it!!!!
To talk about responsible spending and ending earmarks just a couple weeks after signing off on a stimulus bill loaded with pork, and as another one riddled with it is up for review strikes me as supremely disingenuous.
The notion that everyone CAN and should go to college is stupid. THe number of kids getting there needing math and english classes that should have been remidial in high school is already shockingly stupid. THe notion that somehow, fairness means everyone can do something hard is stupid. Fairness means everyone has the opportunity to achieve those things if they want.
I felt bad for most of the non-politician guests. IT was pretty obvious form their pained expressions they felt surrounded by a bunch of scary duchebags.
Dodd, Reid, Pelosi, Barney Frank .. all those people could get jobs elsewhere the US would be a better place.

It remains to be seen how many lies he told in the speech because we all know he will do almost none of the things he promised. But I am rather shocked that he claimed that Americans invented the automobile. You have to be really stupid to put that into a major speech, but then Obama supporters are stupid enough that they don't know any better. And you know that his butt-buddies in the press aren't going to call him on it. But then people who have any real education have known for a long time that Obama is full of shiite.
If you are so good at documenting lies why is it you can never find any that were told by the previous administration, the one that sent us to war based on lies? Why is that, exactly?

OK, here is another example of a big fat lie Obobo told last night. He said that after the Porkulus bill (which he said contained no earmarks, a statement that was greeted with an outburst of laughter from the Democrap side of the aisle), they would be cutting spending to the bone. But what is actually happening???
With one of their own in the White House, Democrats in Congress are moving to give domestic government agencies 8 percent more money, on average, to spend this year atop the whopping $787 billion in economic stimulus funds.
Just a day before Obomo gives Congress a blueprint for the upcoming 2010 budget year, the House is taking up a massive $410 billion spending bill wrapping together the budgets for a dozen Cabinet departments through next September.
Taxpayers for Common Sense, a budget watchdog group, counted 8,570 pet projects totaling $7.7 billion inserted into the bill by lawmakers. The so-called earmarks include $22 million for an addition for the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library, dozens of grants to states and counties to battle methamphetamine, and a new $250,000 siren for St. Paul, Minn., to warn residents of tornadoes and other emergencies.
Did you see that??? "8,570 pet projects totaling $7.7 billion". No wonder even the dumbocraps laugh at him.
We wouldn't need a stimulus to jump start the nearly dead economy if our first MBA president had done a decent job on his watch.

WASHINGTON (AP) Two members of Vice President Joe Biden's family own the company that oversees an investment fund linked to Texas financier R. Allen Stanford.
Stanford is accused by the Securities and Exchange Commission of engaging in an $8 billion fraud.
On Tuesday, the attorney for a son of the vice president, Hunter Biden, and for one of the vice president's brothers, James, said that the business arrangements began in June 2007 and ended one week ago.
A fund of hedge funds controlled by the Bidens was marketed by companies controlled by Stanford. Stanford-related companies also invested $2.7 million from individual investors under the arrangement.
The Bidens' lawyer, Marc LoPresti, said the $2.7 million has been set aside and made available to the receiver of Stanford's enterprises.
LoPresti also said that "it's entirely accurate" that no member of the Biden family has had any contact with anyone from the Stanford company.

About halfway through the speech, my wife, watching me mutter darkly at the television screen, said: "Why are you so upset? He hasn't said anything." And that pretty much sums it up.
I know the speech was supposed to be upbeat and not for policy wonks.
But I'm worried that it's not just a matter of what he chooses to put in speeches, but what he knows. It looks very much as if the president is oblivious to everything we've learned about social programs and educational reforms in the last 40 yearsand by "we" I include policy analysts on the left as well as right. The guy never indicates that he is aware that we've tried a whole bunch of the same stuff he wants to try and evaluated it repeatedly andread my lipsit doesn't work.
He makes a great candidate, though.
