I contracted an infection similar to this from a clinic when I was 9 months old. I was admitted to the emergency room on Christmas Eve and didn't come home for 3 months. My skin looked like it had been boiled off of me, except for a few spots on my hands and feet. My mom said they had to scrub me with a nylon bristle brush, then cover me in salve and wrap me in a blanket like they'd do for someone with a 3rd degree burn. I guess I'd scream pretty loud when they'd do that. My dad said they also did a spinal tap while they were there to make sure I didn't have meningitis.
