"In other words, it's just like it was before the invasion."
Except for the amount of debt the United States is in because of it.
I know it doesn't count for much in this kind of analysis, but there is the matter of the thousands of Americans killed and wounded and the tens of thousands of Iraqis (if not more).
We are bringing democracy to Iraq, at least to the ones who are still alive by the time that democracy stuff starts kicking in. In the meantime, we have a low intensity civil war to show for all the suffering and all the cost in lives and money. Heck of a job, there Dubya
And 600,000 or more Iraqis dead. Oh, wait. they don't count.
Iraq, win, lose or draw, has (and will) be a giant financial loss for America. America's infastructure, education and health care sufferes while we piss away over a Billion dollars a week on a fight that's been going on for thousands of years. Bush is not only stupid, he's arrogant in thinking America can fix the Middle East.
Dead US soldiers don't matter to someone like him, Iraqis sure as hell won't either.
I'll bet 3/4 of their number was killed by their own people or Iranian backed terrorists!
No, that one person said that and that's not a summary of the article. That one person meant the soldiers were like they were under Saddam, but at least before they had stable power, water and food distribution.
And even if that were true we were the catalyst that created the atmosphere for that to happen.
The Iranian backed terrorists, better known as the Iraqi Shiites, make up 2/3 of the population of Iraq. They are the majority over there. One of the biggest reasons for not invading Iraq, made eloquently by Bush Sr and Cheney back when he worked for Bush Sr, and before he was bitten by the neocon bug, was that throwing Iraq into disarray would throw the Iraqi Shiite population into the Iranian sphere of influence.
Dubya wouldn't listen to that logic, and Cheney has morphed into something with a black cape and helmet, and so that is exactly what they caused to happen. All because their Project for a New American Century/ The Unipolar Moment philosophy made them mad for power and blind to the consequences.
These fools have rushed in where wise men, or men who were once wise, feared to tread.
Don't forget that in the process we alienated most of the world with our big balls bravado. Gw, worst President EVER!
And you care about what others think of us ....... why? Get on your knees and suck off every president, premiere, dictator, and chief and see where it gets you. Although they might like you enough to give you a towel to wipe off with, there is really nothing else you will get from it. If you really care so much what the world thinks, move to France and join in with them. The good think about being the biggest on the block, is that you dont have to care what other thinks. I would LOVE to hear your thoughts on JFK since him and LBJ started the Vietnam war. Good damn thing libs were not in power during Regan years, or Russia would be a world power and we would be broken up. Apologizing and being submissive to everyone in the world gets no respect, it just gets you killed.
As all you FF supporters know (and I am proud you know) life was good under Saddam Hussein. His murder and his governments collapse was the fault of Bush and the zeal with which you spread this information makes us proud as peaches. When Obama is power he will hopefully stem cell transplant Saddam, bring him back to life and make him the US VP.

What utter bilge!
The first sentence says: ""It reminds me of Iraq under Saddam," a militant opponent of Saddam Hussein said angrily to me last week as he watched red-capped Iraqi soldiers close down part of central Baghdad so the convoy of Nouri al-Maliki, the Iraqi prime minister, might briefly venture into the city."
In other words, it's just like it was before the invasion. Don't writers read their own crap?
