not only that but bombing the fields dont really do anything, the farmers replant in the craters becuase the flowers only scatter, i learned in a national security class that unless the poppy is actually only fire it isnt destroyed
The Taliban did such a thorough job of getting rid of the poppies, that the Bush Administration awarded them $40 million early in 2001 for their contribution to the war on drugs. I don't know what they did with the money, but it is gone now, and the poppies are back.

These people make far more money growing poppies than food.
When the Taliban was in power, they destroyed all of the poppies in the country. But since they were taken down, this problem is worse than ever before.
