I don't know about Steamed but I would vote a big YES for women AND men, as I can tell you after raising two boys those first few months of life frankly shouldn't be missed, not a moment of it.
Sadly though this will just give another excuse to the 1"ers (like they need more) who won't be happy unless we are all working like third world sweatshop laborers and getting paid just as badly.
If anyone wants to know why we can't compete with India and China one needs to look no further than the worker conditions and the condition of their environment. 9 out of the top 10 cancer causing cities are in China, IIRC out of the top 20 the only two that weren't in china or India were two ex Soviet chemical production cities.
It is sad to see how far this country has fallen that we are even talking about this. When I was a child a woman could stay at home and raise the child herself if she wanted, now wages are so stagnant that there is no choice in most cases the woman HAS to work, and miss out on some of the most wondrous time in a child's life. How truly sad.
I think women should stay home and take care of their and other harem member's kids; that is their job, 24 hours a day 7 days a week - while we men have a smoke and relax. That's one of many reasons why we don't let women drive cars. Maternity leave is not an issue here, as women do housework only. Maternity leave will not be an issue for you either, once the occupation is complete. Stone them that do not stay home.
Yeah...but what do you think? Sometimes the lampoon gets in the way of your message.
A 1"er is a one percent person, that is one of those in the top 1%. These includes your Buffets, the guys at the top of Goldman Sachs and Halliburton, the truly greedy pigs that are happy to fire tens of thousands of their fellow Americans if it means they can go from a 200 million payday to a 230 million one. Their greed knows no bounds, and is never sated, the true scum of the earth.
Ah...I thought you were talking about 1 inchers, lol. Sure, they have a reason to grumble...but sweatshops? But 1%ers...now I know what you are talking about.
As to Buffet, I actually like one of his quotes that supports the estate tax:
"It's a very equitable tax," Buffett said. "It's in keeping with the idea of equality of opportunity in this country, not giving incredible head starts to certain people who were very selective about the womb from which they emerged."
Another quote by him nailed exactly what is wrong with the current system and why thanks to the 1"ers it is doomed to failure "My secretary pays more taxes than I do!" and it is THAT that right there, that ensures that the USA, like the USSR and Rome before her, WILL fall. The greed of the 1"ers knows no bounds, and they will use treasonous bribery to ensure they will never pay their fair share.
In just the past 15 years they have helped themselves to the point where once they controlled 80% of the wealth now the 1"ers control 90% of this countries capital. Imagine that for a moment, for every 10 dollars in the economy 9 of it is controlled by a group small enough to fit into a HS gym.
It is also because of their endless desire for more wealth and power that in the past decade we have seen the closing of 41,000 factories. That's no typo friend, 41,000 factories that once employed your fellow Americans were shipped overseas, all to ensure the 1"ers an even bigger slice of the pie, while useful idiots like Steamed and the Baron rail against what little the poor have left.
That is why we WILL have our very own Arab spring. What you are seeing here in the USA is nothing less than the start of the next great depression, brought about purposely by those that benefited from the run up to the collapse and now can benefit from the misery by using it to pit nation against nation to fight for the scraps. it is coming friend, the "flash mobs" as the media calls them are only the beginning.
The people are tired of being robbed by the 1"ers, they are tired of having nothing while they have all. look to the east for it is coming friend, an end to the tyranny of the few shall soon be here, look to the east.

So what do you think, Steamed? Should women get paid maternity leave?
