I gotta agree, folks don't know how good they got it. My first "PC" was a VIC20, where you had to type FOR HOURS just to get a game into it because you had to WRITE THE GAME and then you'd have to try to "save" it to a cassette which I would then have to hide to keep my late sister from putting Culture Club on the thing.

That CPU was a whole 1MHz folks, and had less memory that those watches you get out of gumball machines.

Now I'm sitting here with 4 1.6Ghz PCs I'm selling tomorrow for a whole $20 each as junk, I'm typing this on a machine with 4 CPUs, 8Gb of RAM (which is actually larger than my first 5 hard drives put together), 800 Stream processors for video processing, instead of a crappy old TV I have an HD widescreen that is thinner than a magazine, my games look so real I can count the number of laces in the shoes of the guy I just blew away...it is fricking insanity! And this monster actually cost less than the VIC20 did with all the addons!

We have so much incredible tech we really should be going "wow"! Now get off my lawn!

Could he possibly be the Carlin of today? Nah, he rails against the idiocy of us as opposed to Carlin railing against the idiocy of the "establishment". Still, I gotta agree with the headline.
