Are you serious? The Clintons were the folks known for offing critics. And to say that Rahm Emanuel isn't a hatchet man is kind of funny.
I think its a difference in the party's over all... Kinda like during the Bush years if you questioned what the president did you where an unamerican antipatriot terrorist supporter out to ruin america... And now if Obama says anything the right attempts a crucifixion.. The Clintons did their share of retaliation some of the time, but oddly some people seemed to be immune from it. And keep in mind that part of Bill Clinton's reputation for revenge is based on fictions, such as the ones where he killed Vince Foster, who committed suicide or the Transportation Secretary who died in a plane crash.
With Clinton there were more lies told about him than ones he told himself (an impressive feat).
With Bush most of the lies were the ones he told the public. Most people were afraid to tell the truth when the Bushies were lying, such as the WMD bullshit. Again, what happened to Joe Wilson is the reason more people didn't speak up when Bush & co told us that Iraq was a threat to the US, a laughable untruth.

Yeah, well there were multiple forensic autopsies of Vince Foster, multiple because there was always another senator who got sucked into the scam that didn't believe the previous one. The Vince Foster 'murder' was the Birther story of its time, nothing is going to convince people who would rather believe an exciting made up story over a bland reality.

Obama can give a good speech, but it is hard to talk away all that oil. People want results - and even though they have been trying really hard on blaming BP and the Republicans for this mess, who's in the drivers seat, who's cleaning things up who's not getting the job done. Obama has been able to pretty much control the press the first 18 months of his administration, but the slippery politician may not be able to elude the oil covered wildlife and coastline .. sort of ironic.
Got to love leftist weenies who will do anything to shove their bad policies down our throats like so-called health bill reform bill that will do nothing that it promised.
I believe that, watered down as it is, the health care reform WILL get more people covered by health insurance, its principle objective.

Getting back to the 'watered down' aspect of the reform. Was it really leftist weenies who insisted that the law be watered down to make certain that no federal money was ever to be spent on abortion? Is that really a leftist weenie concern? How about the members of Congress who wouldn't vote for the Bill until it was watered down enough to satisfy the health insurance industry, the drug manufacturing industry, and the medical associations? Were they all leftist weenies, too? If so there sure were a lot of them insisting that this thing get diluted.
Well, he could spend alot of our money developing a "gay bomb" and drop it down there..

Obama lacks a hatchet man, like Karl Rove, that would destroy your character and your career (see Amb Joe Wilson) if you cross the president. Obama is weak in the kicking ass department, which is why his political foes feel free to slander him in nearly unlimited ways, including casting aspersions on where he was born.
If you said Bush was planning Death Panels, you would find the political equivalent of a severed horse head in your bed the very next day.
That doesn't happen with this president.
