Do you often use one example as a general sweeping judgment? If so, that explains alot.
A similar strategy is utilized against the Tea Party folks...
I said similar, not exact. The left has made a general sweeping judgment on the Tea Party movement and basically anyone that isn't lock step with the current state of government. When dissatisfaction is automatically labeled racism there is a problem. It is no better than what the dumbass above has said about Democrats.
How many people from the 'tea party ' has been elected to congress .. not that the tea party is even an official party .. how many of those were admitted KKK members?
Do we really need to post all the videos of peace loving lefites having violent demonstrations ..AGAIN .. and how many violent tea party demonstrations have their been - lord know the MSM has tried to show they are all raucous events. Sure there are many that don't have very good signs .. and some that do not answer questions very intelliently .. but if you were to question most people about politics you would just shake your head in amazement .. people say the darnedest things.
Only time i see racism come up is when someone says something racist... Also a lot of people could say the line of devide was drawn and quite clear during the last president.. You remember being a terrorist if you questioned the war or the gov, right wingers etc. Also it was quite a bit more prevalent then it is now.
T, do i really need to go through the history books and point out KKK republicans? Face it, in the past members of both repub and dem where kkk in the south. And prob a few who are still in congress from both sides. Does it make it right? no.. Do i even like this guy? Cant say that i do.. But he better come up with more then 1 example if he wants to label it as a party thing, even more so when many examples can come to mind on the right side.
Of course, when the Dems decided to champion civil rights, where did most of those racist Southern Dems go? Hint: It was another major national political party that welcomed them with open arms.
Rand Paul says he would vote for the Civil Rights Act. Robert Byrd VOTED AGAINST IT!!
Who is the racist???
Many members of Congress voted for the Civil Rights Bill in 1964 and many of them voted against it. So, here is an idea for you; why not come out in support of Civil Rights and against discrimination? Support the concept of blind justice, seeing no distinction among people based on gender, national origin, race, creed, color, or sexual orientation?
These are all-American pro-Family values that everyone should accept, and ultimately will accept or risk being left behind in the dustbin of history.
The fact that some don't embrace these American values, or haven't done so in the past is irrelevant. What is important is that we do so today, regardless of political philosophy or party affiliation. In fact, most Americans do.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal and endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights, including Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.
Feel free to oppose these ideals, Ham, but don't be surprised if the world passes you by if you do.
And don't forget to take your stupid Talking Points with you.
It took like 90 years for blacks to get the right to vote and another 60 for women to have the right to vote. Just about every race, creed and religion has been discriminated against in the US .. Americans aren't angels or perfect .. they are people who have biases and prejudices .. just like every other nation in the world we think we are better .. perhaps we are.
It is a true statement that the longest serving senator currently in congress, the dean of the Democrats, was in the KKK .. the man should have retired or been voted out some time ago IMHO but he is still representing the good people of WV. Unless you live in WV, you can't do anything about it. Shoot .. Barbara Boxer is the senator from my state and I have and will vote for someone besides her .. so far it has not done much good .. I just wonder who these numskulls are that keep voting for her.

The ex-Klansman allegedly ended his ties with the group in 1943. He may have stopped paying dues, but he continued to pay homage to the KKK. Republicans in West Virginia discovered a letter Sen. Byrd had written to the Imperial Wizard of the KKK three years after he says he abandoned the group. He wrote: "The Klan is needed today as never before and I am anxious to see its rebirth here in West Virginia" and "in every state in the Union.
