Because the legislative clowns in Kawlifonia can't do anything worthwhile like pass a budget that isn't DOA 1 month after they sign it .. they think they can force e4veryone to go to greener TV's now. This state has too many liberals in charge that can't tie their own shoes ... but they want to tell you how to run your life .. cuz they are 'better' than you.

Believe it or not, I have to disagree with you this time. California does have problems like any other state, but they are basically the only state I could name that seems to run independent of the standard labels of "liberal" and "conservative". They do pass unconstitutional laws like this, but the are one of the few states to active flout the unconstitutional drug laws. It is a trade-off of different types of interference, but I don't think they are any worse than any other state.

Were you following the state budget hearings and all the tripe that they were debating over?

The libs want to increase taxes to pay for all the benefits that has been handed out .. some of those benefits are needed IMHO .. .but many aren't. They have raised taxes to the point that businesses can't stay competitive here and so they go to Oregon, Arizona, NV ...etc.

The huge problems they had passing a budget and a short time later (1month)they are $21 billion in the Red cuz they couldn't figure out that they weren't going to get the same taxes they were getting when things were going well.

There was no attempt to take on the unions and all the benefits that they have and all the awesome retirement packages that so many of the state workers and officials have. There are a couple hundred of state employees making over $400K a year and hundreds over $200K a year.

They've abandoned the farmers in the Central valley and are letting them go high and dry due ot the drought while all that income is lost .. simply amazing bureaucrats ruining the 8th largest economy in the world.

I won't disagree with any of that, but the same thing has happened in every other state I've lived in (and I've lived in many). They all seem to be racing to destroy their economies. California doesn't really seem to stand out to me, but maybe I'm just cynical.

The nanny state at it's finest. You are not smart enough to make this decision yourself.
