Dave used to be one of the funniest things on TV, but more and more he's becoming more of a political hack. I'm expecting a run for a political office soon.

No reason to fire him, but he certainly deserves the bad press it is generating.

If you are going to say something tasteless, you should actually be funny.

Yeah the joke was crappy, but it struck me when I heard it, that the butt of the joke was supposed to be A-Rod, who seems to be linked with every woman on Earth. It seems unlikely to me that the 14 year old daughter is the one Letterman was referring to as the one who supposedly got pregnant at the game(in the joke). That reference would seem to be the one who has already been pregnant, but that girl is still pretty young, 18, I think, which makes the joke in very bad taste.

I think part of the joke is the very high apparent fertility rate of the Palin clan, but you don't go after a teenager like that if you are a 60 year old male comic. It isn't right.

Nobody watches Letterman so no one would know he is gone. Who cares???

Let's just leave the children of politicians out of public discussion and ridicule.

I can't agree with you more. I don't see why David Letterman (and the main stream media in general) feel it is okay to take potshots at the children of politicians. I remember (vaguely) this same thing happening with the Clinton's daughter, and it was as reprehensible then as it is now.

You need only reflect that one of the best ways to get yourself a reputation as a dangerous citizen these days is to go about repeating the very phrases which our founding fathers used in the struggle for independence. - Charles Austin Beard
