If we did actually go green, than we would feel like CA several years ago: lack of stable power and prices would shoot through the sky. Also why would anyone want to invest to make green technoloy not suck like it does now as the government forces everyone to buy their crappy products. Green could become the next 80's American diesel engine.
Welcome to the 21st century - it's like living during the industrial revolution; low-wattage light bulbs, lo-flush toilets that back up because the laterals were built for 5gallon flushes. Plastic bags that fall apart in your hands. For cryin' out loud - people out here in California are putting down SHREDDED TIRES as a replacement for landscaping material.
Going green is de-evolution or anti-progression of you prefer.
It ain't living, but I don't mind a weekend or two in the great outdoors away from everything.

5 really good reasons not to go "green":
1) All the celebrities are doing it, so it is probably bullshit.
2) Al Gore gets debunked on a weekly basis.
3) Cheeseburgers are just too damn good.
4) People like driving their gas guzzling cars, boats, and planes.
5) The whole "green" movement is one big marketing scam.
