Hey, I dislike Obama more than most, but generally the photographer decides where people sit/stand because they know what is most pleasing to the eye. I know my position in any photograph is the back center of the picture, because my height draws attention to myself. The photograph above generally meets the standards I've heard most photographers use. Women in the foreground, and those standing go from shortest on the outer edges to the tallest in the center. Shortest in front to tallest in back, so the taller individuals do not block those behind.

Who cares if the etiquette expert bowed down ... she is not the elected leader of the US.
I could be wrong, but I do believe that women are considered of less importance than the men in Saudi Arabia, so by etiquette she must bow down to any man. Obama, being male, is not held to her constraints.
That being said, every President has people to instruct him on how to behave when meeting foreign dignitaries. There are just too many cultures for one person to remember it all. If it was a faux paus for the President to bow, chances are its because his adviser instructed him poorly. I know in some cultures (Japanese, for instance), bowing occurs between people of equal rank, as a form of respect. The reason the sheik did not bow in return could be nothing more than being caught off guard.
Honestly, I can't believe people think this is newsworthy. We shouldn't be getting caught up in such trivial aspects of the President's actions. If there is anything more to Obama's bow, it will become quite apparent in his dealings. At this point, I would say this is tin-foil hat kind of stuff.

We don't hear much about Bobo's Christian beliefs since he threw Rev Wright under the bus. I guess that was just for the campaign that he was trying not to look like he was Muslim.

Obama, who is not a Muslim, bows to the King of Saudi Arabia. The King is know among Muslims as the keeper of the Islam Holy Sites, which is why Muslims bow to him. Obama obviously doesn't know this or he would not have done something so friggin stupid in public where he would be filmed thus leading some people to think he was Muslim.
