This is exactly the thing I call the Heads I win, Tails You Lose mentality of certain people who have blended conservative politics and fundamentalist religion and who look at Bush as some Second Coming figure.
Since CKS and others often try to confuse my point of view, let me clarify;
Christian; good
Jewish; good
Islamic; good
Fundamentalist (any of the above); bad
The only thing I really oppose, in the religious sense, is fundamentalism. If your belief in religion supercedes knowledge, fact, science, and reality, then you can consider me to be an opponent. It is my humble opinion that the Big Guy upstairs probably knows how the world was really made, and how life really began, and what kinds of sexuality people are into, and so on. It seems likely that He doesn't take any offense at us studying these issues, assuming that He made all of them (and us) in the first place and that He gave us the curiosity we have to study such things.
Whatever Holy Writings or Sacred Sayings YOU may have, in your fundamentalist beliefs, that contracdict objective reality in no way bind ME against knowing or speaking about them. It is not okay for you to censor, threaten, maim, or kill those who have a different belief system than you do, or to use such methods to coerice others into believing or at least pretending to believe as you do.
Believe whatever you want to, just leave me, my family, my schools, my community, and my government out of your plans to make converts. You don't have to go away mad, just go away!
Religion is a crutch for people to impose their will on others, period.

(Attn: FF allies hungry for Islamic law are to discourage posting anything negative about Islam; most media know the results if they write anything like this about Allah and follow the rules quite well -- we hope this site included). Anti Christian and Jew articles are safe, friendly and encouraged, however.)
