The real story, if you listened to the hearings, is that the commission found no evidence of any link between Saddam's Iraq and al Qaeda, contrary to the story still being told by this administration. Of course NOW, there are terrorists of all kinds all over Iraq, as a result of our invasion of a country that was NOT involved in 9/11/01. Nice job, guys

The administration has NEVER claimed that Saddam was involved in 911.
As the vice chairman of the 911 panel, Lee Hamilton (Democratic congressman), stated, "There were connections between Al Qaeda and Saddam Hussein's government. We don't disagree on that."
Commission co-chair Thomas Kean said, "What we have found is, were there contacts between Al Qaeda and Iraq? Yes, some of them were shadowy - but they were there."
So the chair and the vice chair of the 911 commission say there WAS a connection!

What it means is, is no matter how hard the media tried to bury the fact that the 9-11 commission confirmed that there was a link, the public still saw the few stories that leaked through the 'very significant liberal bias' in the press. Next quesiton please...

Did people who worked for Saddam's Iraq ever rub elbows with anyone from al Qaeda? Probably.
Was there some kind of cooperative relationship ongoing between them?
No.
Although the American administration never came out and said that Iraq had something to do with 9/11/01, they framed the two together so often that most Americans assumed that there was a connection. To say now that they never said there was a connection is dishonest, they led people to believe that there was a connection. They are responsible for the confusion that many people have on the subject.
Bush & Co. led us into a war based on false assumptions. It is a fact. It is inescapable.
It is what will turn all Americans against Bush once they realize the truth.
