The trend has been going on for decades. Above a certain income level, the average has been going up. Below that point, income is dropping.
This is Class Warfare as it is actually fought. As blue collar jobs are exported overseas, often with American taxpayer support, products become more profitable, benefiting those at the top of a company, while those who work for a living have to find lower wage jobs.
The great American Middle Class has been hollowed out. And if conservatives succeed in sweeping away Social Security and Medicare, among other programs that benefit average Americans, the process of throwing the majority of Americans into poverty will be complete.

Indeed it would seem most disgusting that the top ten richest lawmaker are democrats. However they need every penny to campaign against the Nazi fascist insanity of neothugs. Progressive voters as well need to get rich, via wealth re-distribution, in order to contribute to democratic representatives and keep hope alive.
