Anyone who uses the term "Obamacare" is an asshole.
Sick opponents are weak opponents to the occupation. We have worked hard for Obamacare to make this takeover cause as little pain as possible - don't let it slip through your hands like a sexual fantasy.
Not that I am a Howard Dean fan - but he is a Doctor, he was the Democratic National Committee Chairman.
In a conversation I had with my Dr. a few months back she used the term Obamacare and all the people they were hiring. I didn't consider her an asshole.
If I was a democrat - I'd vote Green Party or Ralph Nader.
Better yet .. vote for a real Doctor .... Dr. Ron Paul - it works for me.
I'll stick with my original assessment if you don't mind. Obamacare would be accurate if Congress passed what Obama asked for, but what they eventually did pass was a gargantuan Bill with enough Christmas tree ornaments to satisfy every member of Congress who demanded this or that in exchange for their vote.
Congresscare would make a lot more sense.
And to be clear I am not addressing whether the reform is good or bad, I happen to think it is a mixture of both, but calling it Obamacare just isn't accurate as a description. Congress made so many changes and additions to it that the final product is more a creature of the Congress than it is of what the president originally asked for.
Did you want the bill to be called the ObamaRiedolsiBigPharm bill?
Whatever you want to call it .. it is going to cost a lot more money for health care for the majority of the people than before it passed, and health care services will not have improved. Big Pharm and Health Care providers . they'll be doing quite fine.
I think CongressCare would do fine. I work with health care providers every day and a lot of them are not looking forward to parts of this reform.
One thing that the reform is likely to do is what the president should have been clear about all along, it will reduce what the federal government has to pay for health care.
Some of the rest will be made up by cutting off some of the fat, the waste, the fraud, the abuse, but part of the remaining costs are going to come down on the heads of health care providers, especially physicians, and the public.
The drug companies and the insurance companies will do just fine even if everyone else suffers, but those are parts of the reform that were demanded by very angry individuals and members of Congress who took lots of money from the insurance lobby. They made damn sure they were taken care of regardless of what happens to the public.
The Tea Party played a key role in handing victory to the insurance lobby, something all you teabaggers can surely be proud of.
Thank ya, thank y'all very much. -Queue up Jailhouse Rock"-
