Well, the war on drugs has always been a republican war on drugs.. Thats who started it, the religous rights "Do as i say not as i do" and "drugs, SHES NOT A CHRISTIAN!" thing we have seen for years and years. Look what you guys have attempted to do to Obama already, can you imagine what would happen if he went the legal way? I can, it would be Impeach, impeach, impeach for any reason at all..

Then we come to Ron Paul, who claims to support things going legal, just not any state he governs.. It would be a step forward but i think it would turn into a big thing with the southern religous (right) states putting pressure on everyone else to make it illegal again.

That doesn't explain why Bill Clinton and Barack Obama have enforced the war on drugs as much as any Republican.

Obviously, Willie Nelson is a danger to society and has to be locked up for the terrible crime of smoking something that the Church Ladies of America think is morally corrupting. Which makes about as much sense as the rest of the war on drugs.

Obama has even escalated the war on drugs this past month - won' talk about his escalation with his tweeters.

Resurrected - why don't try and think before you shoot your trap off .. the presidency pretty much flips back and forth between party's ... some of the major laws against drugs have been during dem presidents in office .. to get it kick started ...

Woodrow Wilson - Dem - Harrison Tax Act of 1914, which restricted the sale of heroin and was quickly used to restrict the sale of cocaine as well.

- FDR Dem - In 1935 the president Franklin D. Roosevelt, publicly supported the adoption of the Uniform State Narcotic Drug Act

- The Marihuana Tax Act of 1937 made possession or transfer of cannabis illegal throughout the United States under federal law.

Harry Truman Dem - The Boggs Act of 1951 had already established mandatory minimum federal sentences for possession of marijuana, cocaine, and opiates.

Ike Repub - kept the ball rolling ... 1954, in which a sitting president first literally called for a war on drugs

Nixon - Repub - stepped up the war even more

the war has not stopped - many states have voted for legalization but the feds won't allow it- there are more pot clubs in Denver now that Starbucks GW partied, Billy Boy puffed and Obama was a toker. What has got my gall is that in the past month Obama has stepped up the war on drugs.

Your bias and prejudice against ALL republicans makes you really a stooge for politicians to yank you around .. as long as the have a (D) after their name .. they are OK.

I don't do the wacky tobaccy - but it is a shame that people are locked up, wars are fought over it on the Mexican border and only Ron Paul and other third party candidates will address this drug policy honestly.
