been meaning to pick it up.
I liked it a lot but the second half or so (Galt's Gluch) was a bit too much. Overall I liked The Fountainhead more.
I couldn't get through any of her books, but a lot of people have her quotes on posters or on plaques.
She writes from a very narrow ideological point of view. That view makes sense in the context that she writes from, a gifted and driven individual can make an enormous difference in this world. Such people should have our support. Fair enough.
It makes sense up to a point, but we can't engineer our entire society just for the purpose of helping the Bill Gates of the world to succeed.
There are a lot of other things that we need to do, and some of them involve giving support and help to "unproductive" people.
I think her ideology falls apart in the real world where a lot of things are going on at the same time, and narrow philosophies don't necessarily tell us how to deal with them all.
Two sequels coming up.

I hope the movie will be a little more tolerable that the book. The thing was a monster, I though I'd ever get through it.
