Here in my town in the Fifties we not only had people with Coal Furnaces, we also had Bessemer Process Steel Mills! Many times you could see the whole Valley filled with the thick smog as you approached from the Uptown section towards the Downtown in the valley below! It also stunk quite a bit since there were also all those Coke furnaces down there to!
