Wal Mart can't win with this one. They are racist if:

1. They have a black Barbie

2. They DON'T have a black Barbie

3. The black version costs more

4. The black version isn't available everywhere

5. The black version ____________ ________________ ________________ .

IF a product's sales are lagging after a set period of time (especially something such as a toy), you reduce the price.

It's Retail 101.

I'm with Wal-Mart on this one.

This is an issue how? Unfortunately racism is alive and well in the United States and it's coming from both sides.

If you're not outraged, you're simply not paying attention.

I think Jincks has the correct point of view here. Stores discount stuff that isn't selling. Now you are perfectly free to spin some racist or reverse racist reason for why black Barbie isn't selling, but I am bored with this topic already.

reverse racism might be one of the stupidest phrases ever.

I agree with Jincks 100%, which is exactly why this should be a non-issue. I should have chosen my words better, but the point I was trying to make is that racism is very much alive on both sides when we are BOTH looking for a reason to be offended on the subject of race.

If you're not outraged, you're simply not paying attention.

There really is such a thing as racism, but it is a natural part of the human condition in the sense than any human can experience it, feel it, practice it, or be affected by it.

The reverse of racism would be an automatic acceptance of anyone with no sense of tribe, race, or nationality.

This isn't to say it is a good thing, just that it is something that anyone can be involved in, to the extent that all humans share the same psychology, more or less.

You can be all philosophical about it if you want to , but I hate the fact that the term "reverse racism" implies that racism is a one way street. The use of it condones the mentality that normal racism is white guy hates black guy. That is BS. Rasicm is racism, it doesn't matter which direction it is going.
