Anne Rice, who is one hell of a writer, isn't known for being wrapped particularly tight, but she really brought out the heavy duty crazy over Tom Cruise in the role of Lestat in the movie.
I am not sure which part made her look crazier, when she demanded that he be removed from the role, which was clearly never going to happen, or when she went nutso overboard with her praise of Cruise once she saw the final cut.
But she seemed to miss the point of her own story, the critical character in the movie is not Lestat, it is Louie, and Brad Pitt did a great understated job in that role. The story is about Brad Pitt's character, he is the vampire being Interviewed in the story.
