Those articles are very very old, I don't think Win2000 was out when I first read the build your own server article..

ok, they recommend windows 98se as a "server" operating system? what if it's a system you want up for months at a time? or if something happens and you need support? I'd think a recent RedHat or Mandrake linux install would be as easy as 98se and much more stable and secure.
