Gee! You mean we will actually be on a pay as you go plan again? How many years till there is a budget surplus! Aren't these the same people that were ranting about Democrats spending money they didn't have, to try and head off a depression?

Only if the Republicans can get another one going! Lately they have scaled back on the size of their wars and only picked on smaller less powerful countries!

Woodrow Wilson - WWI, 1914-1918

Franklin Roosevelt - WWII, 1941-1945

Harry Truman - conclusion of WWII, Korean War - 1950-1953

# John Kennedy - Bay of Pigs Invasion, 1961; beginning of Vietnam War

# Lyndon Johnson - Vietnam War

I think the Dems have started enough wars this past 100 years.. what do you think - although it is congress that actually pass a war bill - something that hasn't happened some time - so the prez just goes ahead and attacks. Leave it to a dem to really screw things up internationally. What with Biden and Obama .. what could go wrong?!?!?

We had this exact same debate in the 1990's when Clinton reduced the Reagan tax cuts for the top couple percent of taxpayers. Conservatives predicted dire consequences for that particular "Largest Tax Hike in History" which, like this one, was simply a retirement of a previous tax cut.

The Clintonistas had one set of predictions for what would happen if the taxes were allowed to be increased for the the top tier of earners and conservatives had a Hell-fire and brimstone set of predictions if the plan was to go ahead.

So, there is really no need to debate this once again with exactly the same two sets of arguments. If you go back and look it up, the Clinton estimates weren't optimistic enough. None of the conservative hysteria over that tax hike come to fruition. Really, the only negative consequence to that tax cut was that conservatives remained so hot under the collar about it that as soon as they got George W Bush safely into office, he undid the Clinton hike, which led to fiscal disaster for the federal government.

History teaches us the whatever conservatives predict for ending the tax cuts this time, the opposite of that prediction is likely to happen.

The savings are bullshit. It implies that the average middle class family will see a 33% increase in their federal income tax. I have a middle class family and I don't remember every getting a 33% tax break from Bush. The report is a lie.

Considering who this info is coming from, did you ever have any doubts about it not being the full truth!

You may have not felt much in benefits from the Bush tax cuts .. but you're going to feel a the impact from these tax increases in your wallet and income taxes - some one is going to pay them, and it's not going to be the lower 50% in the tax scales - unless you consider inflation, which should be higher as a result of these tax increases.

My tax person told me that under the Bush tax cuts, I saved enough in a year to go out to dinner one night, as long as it was not a very expensive place,

I am not too worried that repealing those cuts are going to be a problem for me.

I want to thank all those unable to disprove the figures, for attacking the source, per FF debate rules.
