Does that mean that other stories about crows may be true???
Like "eat crow" and "old King Cole"?
Old King Cole,

Corn cob pecker,
And golf ball nuts.
Crows and Magpies have to be some of the smartest birds I've seen.
Near my house I always have a murder of crows walking around the road looking for something freshly smashed to eat, and the Magpies fetch English walnuts from my parents driveway, fly up about 50 feet and drop them onto the pavement.
I think I've also heard a Magpie mimic before. I was working on a car and dropped a 1/2" chrome-vanadium open end/box wrench and 10 seconds later I hear the same ring from the fence line where a Magpie was perched.
