Jul 09, 11 10:20 pm — I really don't want to ban him, but the guy is polluting our site almost as badly as the spammers.
His neverending posts of spin, reverse psychology, double-reverse psychology, and just outright lies, smears, demagoguery, and other forms of general outrage are crowding out the usual MV stuff about internet videos, cats and dogs, and side boobage.
So, what do we do to slow this guy down? As I have said, I don't want to ban him. Perhaps someone will volunteer to go over to his house and shoot him with a tranquilizer dart, or at least switch his coffee to decalf in a way he won't notice for awhile.
Any other ideas?
As the wolves and a sheep decide what is for dinner, I agree. I have to post so much pro-progressive messaging, to counter the neocon messaging, it is exhausting. I would suggest eliminating any post related to conservative politics. I think the mods would be very good at culling these out, and I would not have to work so much and could instead enjoy the cats and dogs, and side boobage.
I can't decide whether this is in the category of reverse or double-reverse psychology. 
I would also suggest that, now that we have the power, we start by banning the primary neocons, Mr. Big T and the other guy who has the disgusting army guy icon - thebaron. Second we go for the Jews. After that we would eliminate the people that post the most links to gain the most points and display their point wealth and greed. After that I would limit the number of post per unit of time for all except the Lords of the Manor mods. If someone exceed their number of post per unit of time, the Lords could erase those posts that oppose the Lord's position. I have Jessie Lee's number and could pull in the Director of Progressive Media and Online Response Team, but I think we have a good start on that here and could allow them to better use their time against Rupert Murdoch. I personally ask to enter a life of point poverty and that my points, somehow, be confiscated from me and redistributed equally to all other Madvillers to create a level playing field.
Luck for all of us, you aren't making these kinds of decisions.

I think steamed can use this as a new icon image for himself. It illustrates his feeling of self importance for him .. yet shows his mockery tendencies.
To some extent, I agree with steamed when he said limit the number of posts per unit of time. So how many is too many per day? And would that be as true for all links as it would be for disingenuous bullshit such as steamed submits? We could be walking a fine line between democracy and becoming a nanny-ville here.
My 2 cents: It doesn't bother me that much. If I don't want to hear it, and it seems redundant to previously considered content, I'll just not listen.
I agree with Crabbs.
Most times I just ignore him, but once and a while he is amusing. And when I am bored he is fun to pick a fight with. Heck, I say we promote him to site mascot, he sure fits the MADD part.

I kinda feel the same way Z, it is just that I get angry when the spammers fill up the site with their phony comments that are really selling cheap designer watches and whatnot.
Steam's postings are starting to look more and more like those spam messages to me, it is just that he is selling incendiary politics instead of watches/handbags.
And recently has have been more and more and more of his 'content' almost too much to ignore.
It is frustrating that the guy is shitting all over the site just like the spammers but in a way that is more difficult to deal with using Zemmy's patented "Ban and Baleet" method.
For now, we will have to face the fact that steamed is part of the MV family.
(And we know which part!)
