You know, if you stake them down underneath your tomato plants they are perfectly camouflaged. Or so I hear.
My tomatoes are still green .. it's been cool in N Cali. Zukes, Cucumbers, pumpkin, squashes .. right now the peaches are about a week away.
I am pretty much down to raising palm trees in my landscaping. They are really getting big too.
Nice job!
I have cropped at least 2 dozen b-e-a-utiful tomatoes, plenty of jalapenos, green peppers, okra, cucumbers, and I have 4 nice eggplant just about ready to harvest. My herbs have done well too. Gardening is one of my escapes.
jambalaya, crawfish pie and file gumbo
have big fun down on the Bayou
At least, that is what Hank said.
That was... odd.
Everything mentioned by fropfreak for sure and I luv me some fried okra. It's a southern thing, I don't expect you to understand.
Not knocking it, only had it once, and by 'had it' I mean I saw it, and was like 'oh HELL no I ain't eatin THAT boiled mess'
If you're saying it's good fried, I'll take your word for it.
Those are some beautiful tomatoes, I would have totally made a tomato, cucumber, onion, garlic and feta cheese salad.
No garden, but I do have a fig tree in the back yard that is coming along nicely. Here's a pic I took of it in early June. I'll try and take another when I get home.

I thought those were papayas at first. I had 3 papaya trees that were at least 15 feet tall and would fruit dozens of jumbo papayas. The freeze this past winter killed them all.
I have new seedlings going right now though and they grow really fast(like 5 feet a year) so hopefully by next summer they will be fruiting. They smell sooooo good when they blossom.
Damn. That sucks that the freeze killed them. Papaya is super good for you. *fingers crossed* that the new seedlings bear fruit.
This fig tree is huge, and the fruit is absolutely delish. Mid-August it's usually ripe for the picking.

Beautiful! In the past I have grown my own food, but now I only have a little balcony, just room enough for my chaise longue, drinks table, and a few potted succulents.
