Dec 15, 07 11:32 am — So last night I decided to submit a link to Pandora, a website that creates play lists based off of bands that you like. Unfortunately somebody posted a link to it awhile back (like 2006) so it was denied. I was fine with that until I came on this morning and saw the western style shooting game that was posted. I know that game was on here like 2-3 weeks ago, so if people can repost it why can't I repost something from like a year ago?
Its not that I really care about being rejected its just if your going to reject my link you should reject the ones that repeat in less than a month too. I think what it is is that its the same game but a different website hosting it or something. Ack whatever. I'm gonna go find some cheese to go with my whine.
The reason you couldn't submit Pandora is because it's a duplicate link, with the EXACT same URL as the original link the first time it was posted. No one likes dupes, that's why you see that there is a 'report link' option over every link that is on MV. It's so users can help out around the site. Sometimes they'll notice a link that is inappropriate, not tagged correctly (such as NSFW) or may be a dupe and they report it.
That western game got through because it may be the same game that was posted here a few weeks ago, but it's hosted on a different website, hence MV code didn't recognize the URL and it was able to be submitted.
But I see you didn't report the game as a dupe. 
Fortunately the system weeds out the URL's that have been posted before or are already in queue or there would be hundreds or more dupes getting through.
And I'd suggest Gouda to go with your whine.

Could you use one of those Tinyurl sites to just change the site url? You could effectively submit the same this 100000 times right?

I think I posted Pandora aways back .. I used it for awhile .. pretty neat. Mostly I just lsiten to MP3's on my HD, or listen tot eh radio or TV when surfing.
Some times the links to sites are listed on different sites, so the little tool that they use on MV to see if something has been posted before only looks at the link (URL) and not the title.
It has also happened to me many times as well. I'm sure Zem could confirm or deny thi URL thingy.
Usually she just does a little crying person type icon when some one complains of a rejected link.
It's no fun being rejected
