I was terribly disappointed with seven.
It had a great cast, some tremendous writing, some terrific scenes, but one thing I hate about a movie is a weak or bad ending. Seven had a VERY weak, VERY bad ending.
But I will remember to see Mr Brooks on your recommendation
Gotta disagree on Seven! An ending where the bad guy wins decisively is exactly what makes the movie for me. It's so not-Hollywood!
That wasn't my problem with it.
I knew what was in the box before Brad Pitt even asked "What's in the box?" It was telegraphed ahead of time, which made it cheesy and weak, as well as depressing.
HATED IT!
I was wondering how that would do. I might have to go see it now. On a related note Spiderman 3 was good, Pirates of the Caribbean 3 was good, Shrek 3 was lame, and knocked up was surprisingly good and funny.
Glad you enjoyed but I'll wait for the DVD.
I don't go to many movies, I've been very disappointed so many times I won't give Hollywood many opportunities. But Friday night I did agree to go with my wife (usually best when I need to kiss some ass or atone for something I've done or haven't done). Nonetheless, we went to Mr Brooks and I found it to be one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. Costner plays a very non-Costner role and he and Hurt are great. Good story, good ending.

This has got to be fucking bullshit. Yeah, guys like shopping for toys and technology. Fucking, I hate shopping, but if it is shopping for anything fun like computers or technology, ohhhhhhhh I love it.
Women just play games while they are waiting for their pies to cook. >:)
