Nov 11, 05 10:48 am — Which bands have you seen live recently?

I was in London on Tuesday (& Wednesday morning) to see The White Stripes. That was a good show but I do prefer the smaller venues (it was in Alexandra's Palace).

I have seen QueenAdreena live 3 times since the summer, love their live shows. Saw a few local bands, The Knock, Absent Kid, Tat etc.. Oh and Electric Eel Shock who were fantastic live, really engaged with the crowd (they are from Japan).

LOL@naked drummer with a sock on his cock.

Oh & I'm hoping to see Scarling. in December.

Yeah I heard about that...thought it was weird. I love Jethro Tull, but I wouldn't classify them in the same category of rock as Metallica lol

I will be seeing Ian and the boys this Wednesday, at the Paramount Theater in Denver. Front row balcony seats, which are some of the best in the house (I saw Dream Theater in roughly the same seats), and cannot wait.

Who opened for your show there? I think ours will feature Lucia Micarelli, who is one of the most amazing young violinists I have heard in a long, long time...

My Bologna has a first name. But, it had the misfortune of eating paint chips as a child. Therefore, he prefers to be called Mort......

I am so jealous of your seats Lucia Micarelli was at my show too, but she didn't open. The show started with Ian playing Life is a Long Song. Let me know how you like it...I'm hooked now and an yearning for them to come back this way again.

The best band I saw recently were Mew. I work on the bar in a live music venue so I see quite a lot of stuff for free, well actually I get paid to be there. I'm working for Bloodhound Gang on Sunday, so will see Electric Eel Shock then.

Saw Billy Idol on Wednesday night. Pretty good for a wrinkly.
Kinda disconcerting the way he felt the need to put on a fresh shirt every ten minutes, then rip it off for the crowd. Especially considering they were mainly male

Couple of months ago I saw Scissor Sisters, Franz Ferdinand and Maroon 5 on the same night. Awesome gig. Ferdinand just about topped Scissor Sisters, but Maroon 5 werent too hot. I believe Jem was there too, but I was in the pub for that part ::grin::

I'm going to see Franz Ferdinand again this coming friday - can't wait.

Saw some local bands last weekend when in Fells Point. Was most fun. Gotta love loud-ass blues while scarfing some mussels chased with a few pints of Murphy's.

During a jazz festival about a month ago, I saw the Dave Brubeck Quartet at Ford's Theatre. That was *awesome*.
