Nov 03, 05 11:18 am — i am able to rotate my big ass dell monitor 90 degrees so it is 20" tall rather than 20" wide, so i tried it. it's pretty sweet for what i do. it feels like i have a lot more room with it this way than i did when it was standard. ya, i suppose it would suck when i try to play a DVD, but watching a DVD on the top half of the screen while working on the bottom half of the screen isn't that bad of a deal either.

We do this with twin LCDs so users can easily compare portrait documents. Works pretty well.

It's a great idea, except for one thing...natural human physiology.
We have two eyes, side by each. Not on top of each other. our field of view is something like 1: 1.66, horizontal.
You monitor config makes you move you neck more. I think. Maybe not.
