Nov 01, 05 10:31 pm — I have discovered a wicked recipe for any type of hot sandwich. It actually works best with luncheon meat...

small handfull of mushrooms
some onion
nuff oil
handfull of luncheon meat

slice up the mushrooms, onions, and meat. Try to do strips, they sit best on a bun, if you chop them you're going to get a sloppy joe.

heat up a frying pan to heat, put a lil oil in...just not olive oil...peanut or canola is best. Throw in the mushrooms and onions, and cook them till they get a lil soft, add the meat. Make sure to stir it around and get it all mixed up.

Cook that shit until it's warm, but not burnt, rememeber, this meat is already fully cooked.

Throw that down on a bun with all yer favorite trimmings, and it's a stoners delight.

Just try not to burn the house down.

[EDiT]

My trimmings were:

Cheesy Challah bun (I know it defeats the purpose)
Thinly sliced kosher dill pickle
Thinly sliced plum tomato
Baby Boston lettuce
pepper
A lil Dijon mustard
A smattering of cream cheese.

and I used pastrami.

I once rubbed spam on my private areas. It wasn't quite as nice as dust though. Oh, different kind of spam, sorry.

That sounds like an awful lot of work to go to, just to make a sandwich

Edit - My curiosity, combined with the fact that I'm going to have to fend for myself for a week (Noooo!!!) means that I'm going to have to give this a try....

Challah bun? Thinly sliced kosher dill pickle? Pastrami?
Had it not been for the cream cheese I would have sworn this was a Kosher Deli favorite.

Ok, so true to my word I tried the above "sangwitch". Due to the anti-semitic nature of Tesco I couldn't get the funny bread, and my dill pickles weren't kosher, but I reckon I did well enough.

It certainly was nice, but the portion size was a bit much for me. It could be nicely shared between two. Thanks for the recipe Wit!

You can fry it in peanut oil and add as many mushrooms and onions as you want, but it is still a Spam sandwich.

I don't think Wit was referring to Spam. There is no such thing as 'Spam pastrami'

Luncheon meats = deli meats = roast beef, pastrami, turkey, and the Italian meats like salami and other pork products.

Ah, I see. In the UK I think luncheon meat is only Spam or similar pork-like tinned 'meat'.
