Sep 02, 05 09:49 am — we're going on vacation tomorrow, down to the beach in NC for a week--the house has been reserved since march...and i've been watching the news channels nonstop as i'm packing. i feel kind of horrible getting ready for a vacation as people die on the streets in nola. i can understand how desperate they must feel (the mothers with dehydrating and dying babies, not the ones stealing tvs and shooting at helicopters)...why does FEMA keep talking about the superdome when the people at the convention center have been there for days with no food?
anyway...i feel a little guilty about this trip, that's all. anyone else doing anything fun this weekend?

i hope your baby likes the beach! taking cute pics will help ease your mind off all the trouble down south.

You didn't cause the hurricane (unless you have some super powers you haven't told any of us about) Take your pretty little girl and enjoy the long weekend. Have a great time. 
Reminds me of standard advice after the 9/11 attacks.
We have to go on with our lives, to live as normally as possible, otherwise the hurricane wins.
And don't forget to post baby at the beach pics, and enjoy!
