Aug 28, 05 08:51 pm — So, I have been looking for my third MP3 player this week. With memory prices dropping like they are I have been inclined to purchase 512mb or a 1gb player. For 70 a 1gb Logik or Napa can be bought, looking at reviews there has been a fair few problems so steering clear. Ipod shuffle is a no no as I dislike the batteries, I prefer to carry some spare as I find Im always running out.
My first MP3 player took 2 AAA batteries & would run out rather quickly, also the 2 16mb disks it came with were a lot to be desired and the card format is obsolete now. My second player was an Mpman, the battery life was great after the first, one AA lasted a hell of a lot longer. It worked great with ME but when I used XP I would have to reinstall the CD to send new songs to it. In the end that crashed once while sending songs and wouldnt switch on. It also wasnt recognised as a drive even with reinstalling the CD until after much tinkering (leaving it connected for some hours). After wiping and sending a new track to it, it worked playing the music but once on the battery it wouldnt even switch on again. 64mb says goodbye (the removable card that can be used with it is smart media which is also obsolete, I just used the flash).
Philips HDD065
Greed and a good discount (80) and the threat of not being able to return to the store led me to buy this at the weekend. I hadnt looked at any reviews as it has larger space than what I was looking at. Being HDD based I was put off a bit & the size was larger than the other players around atm. I looked it up & there seems to be a softwear problem, I had enough bullshit with the Mpman, reinstalling it every time I wanted to change the songs (also I tried using music match jukebox before & it was atrocious). You can only use this or the even worse Philips softwear with it, no thanks. Ill be returning the unused package.
I decided to come back to the 512mb range and was deciding between the
Audiokey (70) and
Key 015 (60).
The audiokey seemed fine in the reviews, it looked like a really good deal, drag&drop, easy to use no frills & small. It wasnt until I googled Packard bell audiokey problems that I saw the issues (I had to filter through a lot of non-English reviews first). The key 15 seemed great, the few reviews I saw were positive but I followed the google problem test and found that there are no controls on the stick, only on the separate wire.
So Ill be going with a creative, well known & having used my friends they are nice if a little pricey but it seems you get what you pay for after the google problem test.
Your search - "Creative V200 512Mb" problem - did not match any documents.
Ooops, this seems a little long winded, I must be getting old.
Anyway, what do you use?

I have a 4Gb iPod mini. It has plenty of space for my music collection, and is a dream to use. I can't fault it, definately worth the cash.
