Aug 29, 04 12:40 am — Dukey brilliantly suggested that we have another live Trivia game in the chat room similar to one that Rexxx hosted about a year ago. I was not here for that one but is sounds like a great idea and if it works out well maybe we can make it a monthly game.

Dukey asked if I would host it so he could be a contestant. I agreed. I also agreed to donate a modest prise for the winner : Winner may choose from either 2 months of premium membership or a $10 gift certificate to comicshirts.com (which will also have Madville t-shirts by that time).

The date and time are Monday, September 13th at 10:00 pm EST. If it works well and we have another one we will host it at a different time of day to more accomodate the overseas members.

The rules are the same as when Rexx ran it except the duration of the game has been reduced to 1 hour :

You must use the Madville Chat link The game will begin promptly at at 10:05 pm EST according to my watch which may be off by as much as 5 mintues. If you are late loging in that is fine but it will obviously be more difficult to win !

The questions will come primarily from a family trivia pursuit game but I may add a few Madville specific questions for fun.

Cheating by using the internet is perfectly ok. If you think you can find an answer faster than someone that actually KNOWS the answer, so be it. :) Spelling won't be important...

1. Questions will be timed. If nobody has answered the question correctly within 30 seconds then I will post a "times up" post and any answers reieved after that posting will not be accepted.

2. Questions will be assigned a random number of points each using a six-sided die.

3. Questions will be randomly selected.

4. Spelling is not important, as long as I can determine what you were trying to type.

5. If the answer is included in your answer, you get credit for it. For example: if the answer is 'garbage', and you type 'garbage can', you get credit for the answer.

6. The first person to answer correctly gets the points.

7. The winner of each question will be determined by the order that answers appear on *MY* screen. There is no other way to truly handle this rule.

8. Yes, you are allowed to use Google or anything else to 'cheat'. But come on.. it's trivia.. how important is it to you to win that you have to CHEAT? Also, since only the FIRST correct answer gets points, you take a chance of missing the question by looking up an answer.

9. The game will last for 1 hour with one 2 minute break after the first 30 minutes. It is possible that I will extend the duration to a maximum of 1 additional hour depending on how things are going.

10. All decisions by the judge are final. I am the judge.

11. Arguments, bickering, name calling, etc will not be tolerated and will cause you to be expelled from the game. Please don't use this opportunity to harrass anyone or the game may be terminated early.
