Jan 24, 03 02:48 pm — I lost my job almost 2 months ago. Still haven't found a new one. Over 2,400 state workers being laid off doesn't help at all.

With no income, I have to sell a few things. I have a JVC receiver but I don't know how much it is worth. There is no remote, manual or box. I don't know how many watts it puts out. It works great. I searched Google for it and can't find any info on it.

The model is JVC RX-662VBK. It supports Dolby Surround, so it can't be more than 10 years old. The receiver is in perfect condition. I wanted to put it up on ebay but I have no idea how much to sell it for.

Any help would be appreciated

Sorry to hear about the job loss.. that sucks.

If you haven't found it already, hopefully this link will help: JVC RX-664VBK. Yeah, it isn't the 662, but it is in the 660 series.

Reply to verbal:

it looks similar to that. except it has gold colored buttons under the screen and knobs for bass, treble, balance and center speaker tone under the master volume knob.

Sorry to hear about your situation bro. I look through the NY Times daily for a better job so I know exactly how ya feel. Just to give you a heads up, I tried to sell a Marantz Dolby Surround amplifier bought like roughly 5 years ago on ebay and I didnt even get $50 for it. At the time I bought it, the amp was $800 and the remote that came with the set was $200 which you can figure out sucks ass. If the reciever is in good condition, Ill be glad to take it off your hands. PM me or something, just basic info like how long you had it for, speaker inputs and radio tuner? I have a pair of Infinity floor speakers and a pair of surround speakers lying around collecting dust. My Marantz reciever died on me a long time ago. I really despiise the JVC name but I think that model# you have will do just fine for me atm, its old but I think it was mid to high end in the Dolby Surround days.

You can get a remote for that model here:

This guy has service manuals for it:

Manual

eBay currently has a 660 up for auction.. Here.

I couldn't find much on it either... sadly...

To the pain.

Oh... and as a recommendation... (as I'm in the same situation, sort of.. haven't had a job since last May-- but I do have an income)... If you want to fetch money on eBay.. you are better off selling collectible stuff rather than electronics. Unless your electronics are collectible, you'll be disappointed at the money they bring in.. (or unless they are brand new)..

You'd be surprised, however, at what is collectible.. I sold a Commodore 64 version of M.U.L.E. for $127 once... So look at your old PC games and search eBay's completed auctions to get an idea what they go for..

Also.. I found this.. but it's old and the link on the page doesn't work anymore.. BUT.. if you can find one of those internet history caching sites, it's possible they have a copy? Doubtful.. but possible..

Reply to Rexxx:

I tried getting the manual from that place. Donated my $15. Got nothing.

the only thing i have to sell that is collectible are some basketball cards. i don't have any complete sets or cards that are worth much money.
